At The Cape Cod Craftsman, furniture is designed and built by hand, one piece at a time. Each commission is original, never repeated, and created to live in a specific space, for a specific person, with a specific purpose.
Our work spans a wide range of styles, from traditional to contemporary, always guided by proportion, function, and the natural character of the materials. Solid hardwoods, reclaimed lumber, and carefully selected stock are chosen not only for strength, but for the story they carry.
Every piece is built to be used, lived with, and passed down. Heirloom-quality work from the very beginning.
Design and material develop together. Nothing is forced or pre-decided. Each project evolves through conversation, sketches, and problem-solving until form and function align. The result is work that feels intentional, balanced, and uniquely suited to the client.
Much of our furniture is commissioned for a specific client and need, meaning no two pieces are ever the same. Some are bold focal points, others are quiet functional solutions, but all are built with the same respect for detail, proportion, materials, and longevity.
Whether creating a statement piece or a practical solution, we work closely with clients to build furniture that is uniquely their own.
Fine detailing is at the core of our work. We rely on traditional, time-tested joinery methods that prioritize strength, precision, and longevity over speed or shortcuts. These are pieces built to hold up not just structurally, but visually; revealing their quality the longer they are used.
Branches-01 is a cantilevered table with a live-edge Monkey Pod top and a reclaimed Ipe (Brazilian walnut) base. Hand-carved 120-year-old maple detailing and traditional mortise and tenon joinery complete the piece, using responsibly sourced and reclaimed materials.
